Kalkan is one of the prettiest villages on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey. By day Kalkan is a quiet fishing village with daily boat trips from the harbour, at night the village comes alive and roof top restaurants serve some of Turkeys best dishes with fresh produce featuring highly on every menu. Eating out is both inexpensive and interesting. The villa has two large bedrooms both with separate shower and toilet and there is also a rooftop terrace with barbecue. The large lounge/kitchen has open doors to the pool area with fridge, washing machine, dishwasher, cooker and radio/CD player. There are two sofa beds in the lounge. There is also a further shower/ toilet downstairs. The villa has sea views from all rooms and its own private pool with sun loungers and an umbrella. The pool is looked after every day by our friend Mehmet. Mehmet speaks good English and will be on hand should you need any advice about Turkey. The Villa is cleaned weekly and linen changed but should require additional cleaning please ask Mehmet. There will be a small charge for this. The Villa is situated within walking distance of Kalkan Harbour and Kalamar Bay.. Market Day - Kalkan has a large traveling market on Thursdays. The market sells fresh produce as well as clothes, curtains, tablecloths, watches and Turkish spices. Shops - The main supermarket is the Sevil Market which is at the beginning of the Kalamar Road. Most of the shops will deliver - Free of charge. Beaches - Kalkan has a small pebbly beach just east of the harbour but two beautiful beaches just a bus (dolmus) ride away are Kaputas and Patara. We can arrange taxi transfers for you from the Airport (approximate cost £40.00) Distance from airport - 1 ½ hours, The taxi will stop off at Fethiye or Gocek for lunch/evening meal if you wish.
